David Clements is now co-opting Joe Oltmann’s message, which he sums up as:

“…we have everything necessary to arrest, prosecute, and dispense justice to traitors now.”

Which leads one of Clements followers to wonder why the citizen arrests haven’t started already.

Oltmann’s last message along this line urged people to unite around “building the gallows”

Someone wants to execute 500 people per hour, and another person (who helpful included their email address) wants to broadcast executions on prime time pay-per-view.

Threats like this are par for the course on far right telegram channels. They’re not just small niche channels, either. Some have 100k+ followers.

I used to track it more regularly but slowed down because it’s incredibly depressing.

I’m sure a lot of this is just talk. But Im concerned the shift in tone from “we should do audits” to “audits are pointless, we have everything we need and need to act NOW” could cause an escalation to real world action.

They’re replacing hope with “your back is to the wall”

Regarding the OP, it’s worth noting that “arrest and dispense justice” is typically code for “charge with treason”, and any member of these channels will gleefully remind you that the penalty for treason is the death penalty.

So “treason” == “execute”

They’ll usually accompany that with an article about how Trump brought back firing squads.

Finally, David Clements is a former prosecutor and law professor. He should know better. He does know better. But he doesn’t care.

I’m very curious about his track record as a prosecutor.

Not great when the guy that tells people to “stop the bullshit…and start being about it” also decided to randomly hype up executions for treason

His followers are blood thirsty.

Oltmann’s looking for moderators, but so they can help address the rampant spam, not the threats of violence.

I’ve mentioned this recently, but I’m seeing more and more people who have lost faith in election audits/canvassing…which is becoming a problem, because they’re getting that “back against the wall” feeling.

I think this had been happening but the Flynn v Wood rift sped it up

I think the only people - for the most part - who feel like the AZ audit was a success, are the Arizonan’s that followed it closely.

For everyone else, they heard about it and then waited for earth shattering results that never materialized.

I’m basing this off the few Arizonans that pop into my replies to tell me how well the audit went. They’re the only ones that seem to think that.
